Ministry Highlight: Migrant Workers Ministry

Every year, there are about 6,000 temporary farm workers living in BC during the height of the agricultural season. These workers have left behind the people they love in order to provide for their families, and it’s not easy. There are always challenges—leaving their families behind, those families having to face not having their dad/husband there, language and cultural differences, housing issues, discrimination—and of course, just as with all things right now, COVID-19 has only made it harder.

In addition to taking migrant workers to the bank, doctor, or airport, Pastor Carlos has been asked by some employers to participate in training sessions with the workers because with all the COVID restrictions and regulations it is essential the workers understand what is required of them—a challenge with the language difference.

But with COVID-19 has come new opportunities for ministry as well, as Pastor Carlos has been able to post video sermons twice a week, reaching more people with more frequency with the good news of the gospel! You can read more about what God’s been doing in their most recent newsletter: CLICK HERE.

The Migrant Worker Ministry mission is to preach the Word of God under the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit to the migrant workers, winning them for Christ, making them disciples, transforming lives, so they can establish a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and return to their homeland to share the message of salvation with their families, friends and communities.

On November 7, 2020 from 7-8 pm, the Migrant Workers Ministry is holding it’s first ever fully online fundraiser. This will be a great opportunity to hear stories of what God is doing and to support this incredible ministry. Visit the link below to find out more about this event!
