Creating Safer Spaces Together
Boldly forward, never alone with WINGS fellowship
On September 27, staff teams from five Fellowship Pacific churches gathered at Immanuel Church for the Safe Sanctuaries seminar. This free, one-day training equipped church leaders with essential tools to better prevent and respond to situations of abuse, violence, and misconduct within church communities.
The seminar covered a broad range of topics, including practical policy development, reporting protocols, and how to build a culture of safety and trust for all ages. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and walked away with valuable resources to support their ministries.
One lead pastor shared, "The Safe Sanctuary Seminar was excellent. It helped our church staff to understand the broader scope of issues when addressing issues of abuse or violence, as well as providing some excellent resources and guidance for developing our own policies and procedures to make sure we are doing the best we can as a church to be a safe space for all who enter."
If your church hasn’t yet participated, we encourage you to take advantage of this free resource. Creating safe sanctuaries isn’t just about policies, it’s about protecting the vulnerable and fostering environments where everyone can grow in faith without fear.
