mission:
We exist to see people transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus. We live that purpose out by prioritizing three things: gospel, community, and culture.
Village Church Winnipeg serves Winnipeg and Manitoba as a bridge to connect people to the life and work of Jesus. Either through discussion or action, we are called to lead anyone seeking purpose, understanding, and identity to Jesus Christ, the one who sacrificed everything for a relationship with them.
We are here to engage with the questions that people are asking about FAITH.
We know there are people who claim to be Christian, but have no idea how and why, and we know there are many people who do not know about the life and work of Jesus.
We want to answer those questions and continually increase the amount of Gospel conversations in their own lives so that the person who calls themselves a Christian or not a Christian understands the purpose of why Jesus is the most important person in history.
about winnipeg:
Village Church Winnipeg is located in the St. Vital neighbourhood, one of the oldest in Winnipeg, with a large demographic of French Canadians.
St. Vital is an area that has been infused with many newcomers to Canada and the diversity in cultures is increasing each month!
St. Vital houses 30,000 to 40,000 Winnipeg residents.
There are many families and children in this area, along with many condo and apartment buildings; low to mid-level income homes make up the majority of families in this area.
how to pray
Pray for the creation of St. Vital community group(s) – for “Homes of Peace” where gospel community can meet and care for each other.
Pray for local school connection(s) where the church can see an increase in participation to care and serve local families.
Pray for skeptics to find Gospel truth and promises and that they would desire to know Jesus more.
Pray that followers of Jesus, in St. Vital and south-side Winnipeg, pursue a genuine church community to grow and serve each other.
meet the schular family
Kevin & Jill, Malachi, Ava
Jill is from Winnipeg and Kevin was raised in the Niagara Region of Southern Ontario and has also lived in Alberta and Manitoba. Both Malachi and Ava were born in Alberta.
Growing up, Kevin’s parents planted churches and this influenced the way he viewed potential ministry for himself. He saw this full-time ministry connect the mission of a church to serve and care for a neighbourhood/town/city and thus ignited an entrepreneurial mindset in proclaiming the gospel.
In 2019, Kevin and Jill wanted to come to the decision of whether they were called to church planting, so they registered and completed a Church Planting assessment course with C2C Network in Seattle. This had a great impact on their understanding of God’s calling on their lives and they discovered their hearts were anticipating a full-time future in church multiplication, which they were excited to see develop in Manitoba.
