Going Boldly Forward, Never Alone: Church Consultations
Bookings Now Open for Fall 2026
A Church Consultation is one of the most practical and spiritually grounded ways to help your church stay healthy, focused, and faithful to its mission.
Because healthy churches don’t just happen, they’re built with care, courage, and community. As Fellowship Pacific, we go boldly forward, never alone.
This month, we hear directly from a church that has gone through the process: Dunbar Heights Baptist Church in Vancouver.
For us, a church consultation was primarily about getting a second set of eyes on our current health and then bringing together congregational perspectives with the combined ministry experience of a consultation team to help think and pray through a sustainable way forward. A lot of times when I talk to pastors about having a church consultation done, they respond with something like, “But everything is fine right now!” as though having a consultation done was only a “break glass in case of emergency” measure for when a church is ready to close its doors.
But, in the same way that marriage counselling is still effective even when you're not on the brink of divorce (and I would argue, probably more effective when you're not in crisis), a church consultation can be an incredible opportunity to bring the church together in a way we don’t do nearly enough; to give intentional focus to where you've been (assessing what's worked well and what hasn't), and then seek God together for where He would have you next, all with the support of seasoned pastors and leaders who can bring their own experience to bear.
It's a lot of work (not going to try and sugar coat that), but it's an investment that is absolutely worth it for the life of your church, as well as an invaluable resource Fellowship Pacific offers its member churches completely free of charge! We say we're all about leveraging our collective strengths to see a God-honouring impact in our region; this is one opportunity where you really get to see that slogan come off the page and be lived out in real time.
So, I'll save you a step: her email is elizabeth@fellowshippacific.ca. It costs you nothing to send off a quick email and at least begin a conversation about how a church consultation could benefit you and your church.
