Wes - Lead Pastor, Valley Church
Christy - Pastor of Care & Administration, Valley ChurchWes and Christy both have deep roots in Duncan, where they grew up, graduated high school, and were married. These are just a few of the reasons why they felt called by Jesus to plant a church in their hometown. Wes came to faith through his teacher at Cowichan Secondary, and his calling to pastoral ministry was solidified through prayer by the Cowichan River at McAdam Park. Christy, growing up in a pastor's family, has always been deeply involved in ministry. Her own calling to pastoral work was strengthened through the planting of Valley Church, where she serves as co-planter alongside Wes. Christy is also part-time on staff at Valley Church, furthering their shared vision for ministry in Duncan.
Wes graduated from Northwest Seminary, through ACTS Seminaries of Trinity Western University in 2019 with a Masters of Arts in Christian Studies and is the Lead Pastor of Valley Church. Wes has been a pastor in local churches in BC for 22 years in Youth, Worship, Associate and Lead Pastor positions.
Christy has an Associate of Arts in Music from Briercrest College and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Christian Studies at Northwest Seminary through ACTS Seminaries of Trinity Western University.
Wes and Christy love a good coffee, being active outdoors, and most of all, spending time with their four kids.

Missionaries, Maaqtusiis Community Church
In 2014, Jacob and Rachel participated in a short-term missions trip to Ahousaht, BC, where they served the First Nations people. It was through this experience that God pierced their hearts and created a desire in Jacob and Rachel to serve this community long-term.
As they prayed for the people of Ahousaht, God directed them to Luke 10:33-34 (NIV):
“But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”These verses confirmed in their hearts His calling on their lives and deepened their compassion and love for these First Nations people. In 2016, sensing the Lord’s leading, Jacob and Rachel embarked on their journey as full-time missionaries in Ahousaht First Nation, BC. They write, “God is also calling all of you to become true neighbours of First Nation people and no longer have them be abandoned. God wants us to go, bandage, and take care of them likewise. Jesus said to us, ‘You go, and do likewise.’ (Luke 10:37).

Lead Pastor, SouthRidge Church
Brent and Pam have been married for 31 years and have been blessed with 4 really amazing kids. Their tribe has grown to include two son-in-laws (one soon to be daughter-in-law) and 4 grandkids. Brent (and Pam) felt called by God to be part of a core group of people who church planted SouthRidge Fellowship in 1996. Brent became SouthRidge’s lead pastor in 2005 and after 20 years as lead, has answered God’s call to try and replace David Horita as Regional Director of Fellowship Pacific.
Believe it or not, Brent does have some formal education (B.A from TWU and a Master’s degree from Northwest Seminary), but most of his education has come from life. This includes growing up as a missionary kid in Colombia; moving around BC as a pastor’s kid (Chetwynd and Sardis); owning a painting business; serving as a pastor because he couldn’t ignore God any longer; and journeying with cancer for the last 6 years.
Brent’s ministry passions include all things about leadership, including global missions. His life passions (other than his family) include working with his hands on projects around the house, watching action/sci-fi/fantasy movies (Pam says I should also include Hallmark movies), learning how to develop his skills as a home bartender (is that safe to admit at Impact?), and living up to his title, ‘Pastor of Disaster’ (you too can have this title if you are leading a team in Israel when war breaks out).
Brent doesn’t take himself too seriously and enjoys speaking and sharing God’s word in very practical ways.
