You are invited to Vancouver Urban Ministries Fundraising Dessert Night at 7:00 pm on Wednesday 28th May at Home Church, 215 East 18th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5V 1E5.  There will be some amazing desserts and live music. You will also hear from tutors, parents and students about the impact of our programs on young lives in our community.

A recent report by the BC representative for children and youth suggested that 83,000 young people with disabilities in BC are in danger of being left behind by the underfunded education system.   VUM is addressing this growing need by expanding our reach across East Vancouver.  We now have 6 tutoring centres in East Vancouver and 2 in the lower mainland.  In September we will be launching a new tutoring hub in Richmond, BC.  During this school year, more than 80 children who are struggling to read and write because of learning disabilities have been referred to our program by their local schools.

Without your faithful and generous support, it would be impossible for us to provide the help and support that is crucial for these children at this time.
