This Commons Class on Worship will be led by Dr. David Montgomery.

Class Dates

The live sessions will be held January 21, February 4, and February 18 from 10:30am - 12:00pm with facilitated discussions happening in the exclusive affinity group in between each session.⁠

About David Montgomery
Dr. David “Monty” Montgomery is the Regional Director of IFES Europe, overseeing the university ministry in 43 countries from Greenland to Ukraine. He previously served as an IFES  Associate for Pioneering and Bible Teaching.  Before that he was General Secretary of the Irish IFES Movement, CUI. He has taught for IFES groups internationally and was a Presbyterian pastor in Ireland for 18 years before returning to student ministry. 
 
He specialised in Preaching and in Old Testament at Regent College, Vancouver.  He has published a book on worship: “Sing a New Song: Choosing and Leading Praise in Today’s Church”, (Rutherford House/Handsel Press, 2000); and “The Unfinished Story: 30 devotionals on Luke-Acts” (Muddy Pearl, 2023) written to celebrate 75 years of IFES. He has contributed to  books on the Old Testament Wisdom literature, Preaching, Para-church ministry, as well as publishing articles on forgiveness, reconciliation, childlessness, hymnology and a Christian approach to Sport. He has taught at the Irish Bible Institute in Dublin, and Belfast Bible College.  He has a Doctoral degree from Covenant Theological College where his thesis was on bivocational church planting in Ireland. He is married to Gwen who assists in his ministry with IFES Europe and is a professional declutterer.  He enjoys crime fiction, cycling and the poetic football of Manchester City FC.
